Finding 1: Google was not seeing the website at all
What caused it: a combination of missing internal links to deeper pages, no XML sitemap submitted to Google Search Console, and a robots.txt file that was unintentionally restricting key sections of the site.
The fix:
- Generated a complete XML sitemap using the website’s CMS plugin
- Submitted the sitemap through Google Search Console
- Rewrote the robots.txt file to allow crawlers access to all public pages while blocking only admin and checkout areas
- Added internal links from the homepage and main navigation to orphaned pages
- Used Search Console’s URL Inspection tool to manually request indexing of priority pages
Finding 2: A live website with a noindex tag is still blocking it
One T&T business website had been live for nearly six months with a noindex tag still active across every page. The developer had applied it during the build to prevent Google from crawling the unfinished site. Nobody removed it at launch. The business had spent money on the build, the launch, and early content work, while remaining completely invisible to Google the entire time.
A noindex tag is a single line of code that tells search engines: “Do not include this page in search results.” It is a standard part of the development workflow. Forgetting to remove it is one of the most common and most damaging technical errors we encounter during an SEO audit in Trinidad.

Finding 3: Core Web Vitals are failing severely on mobile
A transport and logistics website we audited was scoring 37 out of 100 on Lighthouse performance, with pages taking nearly 17 seconds to become fully interactive on standard mobile connections. For context, Google’s threshold for “good” is under 3.8 seconds. The site was over four times slower than the acceptable benchmark.

What caused it:
JavaScript execution overload (the site was running heavy scripts on page load), 681 KiB of unused JavaScript, 112 KiB of unused CSS, render-blocking resources, and intermittent 403 errors from an aggressive firewall blocking search engine bots. The business was losing visitors in the first five seconds of every page load, and Google’s crawler was sometimes being blocked entirely.
The fix:
- Installed a caching plugin to serve static versions of dynamic pages
- Implemented lazy loading on all offscreen images
- Deferred non-critical JavaScript execution until after the main page is rendered
- Removed unused CSS and JavaScript files
- Adjusted firewall settings to explicitly allow verified Google, Bing, and other legitimate search engine crawlers
- Moved to a hosting package with better server response times
Finding 4: Thin content on the highest-value conversion pages
One business we audited had a reservations page, the most valuable conversion page on the entire site, with only 106 words of content. Google had almost no text to understand what the page was about, so it was not ranking for any meaningful search related to reservations.

Finding 5: Broken internal links and missing image files
The specific problems found:
- Broken internal link from the homepage to a contact page
- Missing image files on the homepage, About Us page, and Contact page
- Missing lead-magnet PDF on the forms page (users clicking the download received a 404)
- Broken social share buttons on multiple content pages
- Some external resources hosted on legacy cloud storage are returning intermittent errors
The fix:
- Ran a complete crawl of the site to identify every broken link and missing asset
- Fixed the homepage contact link and all other broken internal links
- Restored or replaced missing images across the affected pages
- Re-uploaded the missing PDF and updated the download link
- Replaced broken social share buttons with current working versions
- Set up quarterly link-check audits to catch future breakage early
Within 45 days, the site’s 404 count was reduced to zero on priority pages. Crawl efficiency improved, and Google began indexing previously skipped sections.
